Join us in partnership with Mexican-born Chef Rafael Covarrubias, Executive Chef at Hexagon, for an exciting wine pairing experience. Allow Chef Rafa to indulge your senses with his interpretation of classic dishes celebrating his heritage; from the bright seafood of coastal towns to traditional mole learned on missions in Oaxaca. Carefully selected wines will enhance and complement the beautiful nuances found in his authentic Mexican fare.

Born in Mexico, trained in Calgary, and now based in Oakville, Ontario, Rafael Covarrubias is one of Canada’s most exciting and talented young chefs. In 2019, at only 25, Chef Covarrubias won the North America S.Pellegrino Young Chef Competition in NYC; in October 2021, he represented North America in the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Grand Finale in Milan, placing third in the world.
Tara O'Brady is a food writer and award-winning cookbook author. She is a contributor to Canada's national newspaper The Globe and Mail and host of their cruise program. She has written for Saveur, Kinfolk magazine, Jamie Oliver, and others, with additional work with The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, and various television projects, including as a judge on Iron Chef Canada and Wall of Bakers.
