2007 Stratus White

The 2007 began with a complex bouquet of ultra ripe peach, lemongrass, pineapple, honey and spice. This vintage saw just under 20 months of oak aging in barrels of a variety of ages, forests and cooperages. Now, nearly two decades later, these fresh fruit flavors have matured to showcase dried tropical fruit, grilled lemon, sage and toasted oats. Despite its age, a surprising amount of vibrant acidity keeps this wine crisp with a long, lingering finish.

2007 will be recorded by most as excellent though it is important to remember that not all grape varieties benefit from a hot, long, growing season. Bud-Break was frost-free and flowering occurred under ideal calm. The summer and fall were seasonably warm and dry allowing for clean fruit and above average ripeness levels.
