2014 Stratus Chardonnay

Showing remarkable maturity while retaining impressive vitality, expect aromas of citrus, ripe pear, and peach layered with evolving notes of dried apricot, bruised apple, and warm crumble. With time in the glass, the bouquet expands to reveal orange blossom, almond skin, and delicate hints of dried vanilla bean.​

The palate is soft and elegant, offering a seamless integration of fruit, oak, and bottle age. Rich nuances of marzipan, buttery toasted baguette, and subtle vanillin lend depth and complexity, while fresh acidity preserves balance and lift. A gentle patina of maturity adds character without diminishing brightness, showcasing the wine's graceful evolution. The finish is long and persistent, carried by lingering notes of almond, buttery toast, and well-integrated oak spice. A classic Chardonnay that continues to express both refinement and longevity.

The first months of 2014 were unseasonably cold and cool

weather prevailed into spring thereby delaying bud-break. Modest temperatures continued through the peak summer months and the growing season lagged behind most years. Fortunately, warm and seasonal temperatures began in September and October allowing for grapes to push into maturity. Patience and late harvesting of red varieties was key to capturing ripe red and black fruit notes while whites were more timely and express verve and desirable freshness. Yields and

the more experimental red varieties were humbled by the winter chill.
