The 'Decant' bottle is a celebrated one-of-a-kind design collaboration between Stratus and global designer Karim Rashid. Designed to reflect the layers and stratification of glacial soil within the 55-acre Stratus vineyard, the deconstructed shape also traps the lees as the wine is poured - thereby acting as a 'decanter'.

Select barrels of Cabernet Franc were left unfiltered and on their lees for this exclusive bottle that has been honoured with a Good Design Award by the Chicago Anthenaeum.

Fermented for 21 days in 225L French oak barrels. Aged 614 days in 40% new oak and 60% neutral oak barrels.

A Cabernet Franc with poise and varietal distinctiveness that features notes of dried herbs and licorice, with very firm tannins balanced by a wealth of fleshy fruit and taught acids. Growing conditions

2020 was a remarkable year for weather and wine in Ontario. Warmer than average winter months led to a cool dry April and May. The approach of summer brought a return of the hot weather with low precipitation and humidity. Similar conditions

continued through August with only short, isolated, but intense thunderstorms. While temperatures began to naturally cool, sunshine remained throughout the autumn. The dry, sunny

conditions were ideal for the full and complete maturation of grapes and contributed to a smooth harvest. Across the region, unseasonably warm weather delayed the icewine harvest, resulting in a loss of tonnage. These temperature conditions

postponed picking into the last week of January. While the overall grape crop was low, quality across all varieties was exceptional.

Pour this for Europeans, especially those stuck in their right bank Bordelais world and who could not fathom such ripeness, concentration, luxe capability and hedonism from an Ontario cabernet franc. The berries are black and blue, expressive nature unbridled and emotion high.
